Στη θέση του θα μπορούσε άνετα να βρίσκεται το επίσης φετινό ο-Arthur Russell-παίζει-κρουστά 'Colours of Life'.

Δεν ήταν καθόλου τυχαία η διασκευή των Darkstar στο 'You Remind Me of Gold' των Human League. Μόνο που οι Darkstar δεν είναι οι Human League του 'Dare' και του 'Fascination'- είναι η Βρετανία του 'Reproduction' και του 'Travelogue'. Σε όλη τη διάρκεια του 'Foam Island' νιώθεις κάτι να σε πνίγει. Βαθιά πολιτικοποιημένο, μελαγχολικό και βαρύ, ασυγχώρητα αναλογικό στο ψηφιακό άγχος του σήμερα.

Το roster της Ghostly International είναι τόσο πολυσυλλεκτικό που ο αφηρημένος παρατηρητής δύσκολα θα διακρίνει σταθερές και σημεία αναφοράς. Ο Jacub Alexander (ιδιοκτήτης και του πολύ ενδιαφέροντος blog ISO50) συνοψίζει σε 40 λεπτά τον σκελετό του label, χωρίς τα είδη να μπλέκονται σαν κακοσχηματισμένος πολτός. Στο ‘Personal Kiosk’ συνεργάζεται με αυτόν που βρίσκεται στο νο.16 αυτής της λίστας.

Most of the records stored the sound of people speaking, some the sound of birds singing. The library was the saddest place. The friends went outside. Ο όρος “power ambient” μοιάζει εντελώς αδόκιμος (κι ίσως να είναι), αλλά δύσκολα περιγράφεται αλλιώς το ‘A Year With 13 Moons’ του πρώην μέλους των Tarentel. Το αφαιρετικό εξώφυλλο θυμίζει Miro, ο ήχος θυμίζει Tim Hecker, Fennesz και Robin Guthrie ταυτόχρονα.
